Recently, I interviewed Sam Rodman who owns a successful office cleaning business. In this interview, he gives one of the smartest tips you can get.
Raynay Valles' Interview with Cleaning Business Expert Sam Rodman
Raynay: Sam, why did you start an office cleaning business?
Sam: Well as I was working as an employee for a cleaning company and running a cleaning crew, I saw firsthand the big profits being made in this cleaning business. In 1992 I started my own cleaning business called" Edison Office Cleaning" with just one customer and cleaned it myself. It is a great way for anyone to at least make a lot of extra income. I have been doing it since 1992 to this day and still only work at it part time.
Raynay: How did you get started?
Sam: With just one customer. I got that customer by submitting a bid, (the service agreement) which is included in the Kit that I sell. It is very professional and it works along with the bid follow up letter. I also provide email support to anyone who purchased the kit and wants to succeed in their own cleaning service.
Raynay: What mistakes do most people make when starting a business like this?
Sam: The biggest mistake they make is this: After deciding to start their own cleaning service business, they will typically go out and spend money on everything under the sun like the brooms and mops and vacuum cleaner, etc. Then, they have everything they need accept a customer. In the Kit, I explain how to go about getting the customer first and then get what you need after that. By doing it this way, you will know for sure that you have a guaranteed income every month. A fixed income you can count on before you spend money on anything else like some insurance. It works this way because that is exactly how I got started in the business.
Raynay: That's a GREAT tip. That's going to save people who are new to the business a lot of time and money. Sam, what's a typical day like in this business?
Sam: The entire business is a part time business and run entirely in the part-time evening hours. The work is always finished before midnight, it is always part-time and the income is that of a full-time job and more.
