How to Make Money with an Internet Business -
Know What an Internet Marketer Knows

"Discover How A Measly $1 A Day Can
INCREASE Your Online Sales..."
I'm trying it out and I'll report back here.
Imagine, you and I are having lunch, and we take the opportunity to pick each other's brains. You know I've been coaching an implementing internet marketing for my clients so you ask these two questions:
What DOESN'T Work in Making Money Online?
Here's a heads-up on common pitches that businesses try to get you to buy into, that won't help you make any money. I think these types of companies should be exposed - they just take people's money and offer NO VALUE:
Scam 1: Sell from Your Own Online Store. We set it up, stock it and market it, all for one small fee
You may have gotten those pitches where "you can sell 1000s of items from your own website" so-called deals. If someone says they will create a site, stock it with products and market it for you (and whoever else they can sell it to), all for one monthly low price ($99 or more), RUN!
I've never met anyone who made money from those "deals", but I have met (via email) several people who were disappointed and a little poorer. In my marketing business, I don't take these people as clients, because I can't help them (I wish I could). The problem is "Why should anyone buy from them?" Visitors can get the same Bart Simpson keychain or vase at hundreds of other sites (many from the same company) - heck, at other discount stores. There's no Unique Selling Proposition.
Scam 2: Get 10,000 visitors, $29.99
Or $49.99. Or $99.99. The price may be different, but it's the same bad deal. I get this sad email quite a bit: "I bought 10,000 visitors and didn't get 1 crummy sale". You may wonder, how can this be? Certainly SOMEBODY will buy. Nope. It's because all visitors are not alike. You want to bring people to your website or offline business who want what you sell.
Imagine, you and your friends are at dinner and someone bursts in, shouting "Free shipping on pants now!" How likely are any of the restaurant's patron to take him up on the offer? No matter how good those pants are! You would likely be annoyed and continue your conversation. Those "10,000 visitors" usually are "brought" to a website with spam popups while they are looking for something else. Disinterested people will just click away close to 100 percent of the time.
What DOES Work in Making Money Online?
You have lots of options to make real, cashbank money online. Choose one that fits the kind of life you want to live.
What Works 1: Building and Promoting Your Own Webbusiness
Do you have to have a current website? No? No problem. You can build a website based on a new business or based on your hobby and be successful. There's a tool called Site Build It, made especially for non-techies. It will coach you through choosing a viable business ideas and building a site (without having to become a HTML geek like me). It also shows you how to market your site, step-by-step.
Now, you don't HAVE to build your own website yourself. You can hire somebody to build it (check out elance.com or Site Build It Directory to find a designer). It can be as cheap as $25 for a single page. This way, you can focus on marketing. What Works 2: Promoting Other Companies' Websites Online
Do you need a website to make money online? Not necessarily. You can post ads and send traffic to websites who will pay you per sale - that's affiliate marketing. I must mention, don't sign up for "Post Classifieds all over the internet to make money" - that just gets you lots of spam in your inbox and no sales.
The real way to do it is, you sign up with a company whose products you would like to promote. Find these products at affiliate directories such as Clickbank. You don't have to pay anything to become an affiliate. Nada. Zero. Nothing out of pocket. After all, you're going to help them make money.
What will happen is they give you a unique website address. You advertise (that's where you may spend money) and send people to your unique website address. You make money when the company you signed up with makes sales. Three resources that show you EXACTLY how to do this are Google Profits, Website Not Required and Clickin' It Rich.
What Works 3: Promoting Other Companies' Offline Businesses Online
By the way, online marketing works for the offline world too, under the right circumstances. I post online advertisements for a local business here in Chicago and they pay me for every person who comes to their business and ask for the "Web Special". In this case there has to be accountability and a high ticket amount (so they can make a profit while offering a special deal and paying you). Corey Rudl or Armand Morin's info can show you how.
Don't let any of this overwhelm you. If I can learn this stuff, you can too. Give yourself some time to learn it - it won't happen instantly (like instant oatmeal), but it will happen if you go for it. I have a saying next to my computer:

So go for it now. The sooner you learn this stuff, the better... especially if you've already been thinking about it for some time now.

If you have already sold stuff on ebay, you can lots of money. You just need to know and do what the PowerSellers do. Click Make Money on Ebay.
And if you have a skill, if you're good at something, you can make money selling information products. This is one of the BEST WAYS TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE. Why? Because you can make money while you sleep, play with your kids, go on vacation, etc. You can start by selling other people's ebooks and DVD sets.
